Winemaker

“Viognier is the grape that brought me back to Idaho and it continues to be central to our love affair with the Snake River Valley. I often describe this wine as the Red-Wine Drinker’s white wine because of its powerful flavors and considerable mouthfeel. A great viognier should have aromas to seduce your nose and a body that makes you glad to be alive. Enjoy the Queen of the White Wines in the Snake River Valley.”

Production notes

Hand harvested. Fermented in 1 ton bins with 3 punch-downs per day. Bladder pressed after an average 7 days of skin contact. Malolactic fermentation in barrel. 20 months of barrel aging in barrels of French, Hungarian and American origin. 50% new and 2nd year barrels, 50% neutral barrels. Bottled in June 2019.

Other notes

We suggest pairing this wine with time! And then... roasted meats!

When to drink: Decanting now and for the next 3 years will greatly assist this wine in opening up and expressing its flavors and aromas. We believe this wine has the strength to cellar for 2-3 decades!
